Sweet and smooth Irish whiskey makes a perfect hot toddy when combined with honey syrup and hot water. Mixologist Jim Meehan suggests serving with clove-studded lemon wedges for a festive garnish.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE HONEY SYRUP:
1 cup honey
½ cup hot water

FOR THE COCKTAIL:
20 oz Hot Water
9 oz Powers Irish whiskey
3 oz honey syrup
Lemon wedges, for garnish
Whole cloves, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine hot water, whiskey, and honey syrup in a thermos or a heat-proof pitcher. Serve in tempered toddy glasses, mugs or tea cups; garnish each with a lemon wedge studded with three cloves.
