Roger Moore: The Man with the Golden Life He always played Bond a bit louche. The ever present raised eye brow, the flowing double entendres, the jokes. Less of a deep character study as with Connery and more of a gent that was in it for the fun of it all. The jolly Bond. Bourbon, not Martinis please…. Moore is a giggler (I’ve seen this first hand) he likes a laugh and is certainly not afraid to throw himself under the bus in the telling of a tale. Perhaps it’s this self deprecating tone that makes his new book “One Lucky Bastard” so damn readable. A follow up to “My word is my Bond” and equally as charming as the bon vivant narrator moves through a jet set life that would make even Bond jealous. Moore is a charming raconteur and it comes through in his style of storytelling. He kisses and tells and is eminently pleasant and charming as he riffs on his many exploits. A gentleman through and through.
