Palmyra is an ancient place.  Standing for 2000 years before the Romans even set conquering eyes on its fabled arches and columns.  “The Bride of the Desert” was a critical caravan stop for those crossing the Syrian desert wastes.  A lush, palm filled oasis that offered rest, trading opportunities, and scholarly pursuits.  It’s all that we could ask for as we criss cross continents looking for the new and the old.  A ruin of enigmatic pillars, secret alphabets,  mysterious temples, and sunsets that cast the ancient stones in the most amazing of oranges.

…We are constantly drawn to deserts as inspiration for our materials…. The cool blues of a desert oasis, a pattern reminiscent of reliefs found in antiquity and local garments, a fabric that has a secret elegance, an orange detail of light cast on ruins.
